BIOGRAPHY

Thomas "TC" Campbell was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee and attended Tennessee State University, where he majored in music.  In 1977, while playing keyboards in Nashville, “TC” met singer, Peabo Bryson. The two bonded and  went on to record the LP “Crosswinds” and tour for the next two years. During this time they collaborated as writers on the song “We’re The Best of Friends” featuring Peabo and Natalie Cole.  His career began to flourish after joining the group Cameo in late 1979, there he performed and wrote the recordings “I Like It” and “Knights By Knight”.  In 1983, he became musical director for Evelyn “Champagne” King.

His talent and out going personality attracted the attention of Jeffery Osborne in 1985.  Osborne quickly enlisted his services as a musician and musical director for his band and world tour over the next six years.  Together "TC" and Jeffrey wrote and co-produced the songs entitled “Who Would Have Guessed”, “Love’s Not Ready” and “Come Midnight” on Jeffrey Osborne’s hit album “Emotional”.

Over the years, “TC’s” production accomplishments have included award winning radio commercials, “Let’s Clear The Air” & “Car Pool Lane” for Caltrans, “Million Seller” for the Youth Crisis Line, “Little Secret” for Verizon. He also provided music for “There Goes A’ Series”, a kid’s video for Time/Warner Films.  As the music director for “Dark Legends In Blood” (The Play), "TC" received the prestigious 2003-2004 NAACP Theatre Award for Best Musical Director.  He stays busy arranging and composing for numerous projects.  1994 was the start of a wonderful relationship with the legendary Della Reese who recognized his versatile abilities from the first time they met.  “TC” took over the responsibilities of music director and composer for Ms. Reese.  When Della Reese was invited to perform as featured artist for the July 4th, 1997 Celebration at the Hollywood Bowl, “TC” composed and orchestrated her songs for the Bowl’s orchestra.   At the same time, he coordinates the music and plays for the Understanding Principles Church in Los Angeles in which she is minister.  "TC" appeared and worked as music coordinator on the CBS television hit series “Touched By An Angel.”   Accompanying various artists including the late great "Luther Vandross" on a special episode, was one of the major highlights of "TC's" experience while working as musical director with the show.

Now as co-founder and CEO of Spiritual Icon Records, “TC” has produced “Give It To God”, an uplifting inspirational gospel CD featuring his friend, mentor, and partner Della Reese.  "TC" is also preparing production for his forthcoming solo debut "Groove Jazz" flavored album, which will include great music, solid production and featured vocalists!
